Add oil such as olive oil or vegetable oil
Add salt
Add black pepper
Add garlic or garlic powder
Add herbs and spices such as rosemary, thyme, paprika, onion powder, or mustard
Add a sweetener if desired such as honey, brown sugar, or maple syrup
Mix the marinade well
Pour the marinade over the pork chops
Turn the pork chops to coat evenly
Seal the bag or cover the dish
Refrigerate the pork chops while marinating
Marinate for at least 30 minutes
Marinate for 2 to 8 hours for best flavor
Avoid marinating too long if the marinade is very acidic
Remove the pork chops from the marinade before cooking
Discard used marinade or boil it before using as a sauce
