Place the white chocolate chips in a dry, microwave-safe bowl
Microwave at 50% power for 20 to 30 seconds
Stir well
Repeat microwaving in 15 to 20 second intervals, stirring after each interval
Stop when the chocolate is mostly melted
Keep stirring until completely smooth
Use a double boiler if preferred
Fill a saucepan with a small amount of water and bring it to a gentle simmer
Set a heatproof bowl over the saucepan without touching the water
Add the white chocolate chips to the bowl
Stir constantly until melted and smooth
Remove from heat as soon as the chocolate is melted
Avoid overheating or getting any water into the chocolate
