Locate wall studs with a stud finder
Mark the cabinet height and layout on the wall
Draw a level reference line for the cabinet bottom or top
Remove cabinet doors and shelves if needed
Mark stud locations inside the cabinet mounting area
Drill pilot holes through the cabinet back or hanging rail
Lift the cabinet into position
Support the cabinet with a ledger board or helper
Drive screws through the cabinet into the wall studs
Check that the cabinet is level and plumb
Adjust as needed before fully tightening screws
Install adjacent cabinets and clamp them together
Screw cabinets together through the face frames or sides
Reinstall shelves and doors
Fill any exposed holes or touch up as needed
