Vacuum the couch thoroughly, including seams and crevices
Check the frame, springs, and joints for damage
Tighten loose screws, bolts, and brackets
Repair or replace broken internal parts
Remove old fabric, leather, or finish if needed
Measure the couch and buy enough replacement material
Cut new upholstery fabric to size
Add new padding, foam, or batting if needed
Attach the new material starting from the center and working outward
Pull the fabric tight and staple or secure it evenly
Trim excess fabric and tuck edges neatly
Reinstall cushions and covers
Clean and condition the finished couch if applicable
Inspect for wrinkles, loose areas, and uneven seams
Let adhesives, finishes, or conditioners fully dry before use
