Turn off the weed eater and disconnect the spark plug or battery
Remove the spool cover
Take out the empty spool
Cut the replacement string to the correct length
Insert the string into the spool holes or slots
Wind the string evenly in the direction shown on the spool
Leave the ends free if required by the model
Reinstall the spool into the head
Thread the string through the eyelets
Replace and secure the spool cover
Pull the string ends to confirm they feed correctly
Reconnect the spark plug or battery
Test the weed eater briefly at low speed
