Read the grease gun and equipment manuals
Wear gloves and safety glasses
Clean the grease fitting before attaching the nozzle
Load the grease cartridge or fill the gun if needed
Prime the grease gun to remove air
Attach the coupler firmly to the grease fitting
Pump the handle or trigger slowly
Stop when fresh grease appears or resistance increases
Wipe away excess grease
Disconnect the coupler from the fitting
Check for proper lubrication and leaks
Store the grease gun clean and secured
