Open the Messages app or any app with a keyboard
Tap the text field
Tap the emoji key on the keyboard
If you do not see the emoji key, go to Settings
Tap General
Tap Keyboard
Tap Keyboards
Tap Add New Keyboard
Select Emoji
Tap the emoji key again
Browse or search for the emoji you want
Tap the emoji to insert it into your text
