Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil
Remove weeds, rocks, and debris from the planting area
Loosen the soil and mix in compost or aged manure
Dig a hole large enough for the strawberry roots
Place the plant in the hole with the crown at soil level
Spread the roots out gently
Fill the hole with soil and firm it lightly
Space plants about 12 to 18 inches apart
Water thoroughly after planting
Mulch around the plants to retain moisture and suppress weeds
Keep the soil evenly moist
Remove runners if you want stronger fruit production
