How To Plant Amaryllis Bulbs?

Choose a pot with drainage holes

Use well-draining potting mix

Fill the pot so the bulb neck and top third remain above the soil

Place the bulb roots down in the pot

Firm the soil gently around the bulb

Water lightly after planting

Put the pot in a warm, bright location

Water only when the top inch of soil feels dry

Rotate the pot occasionally for even growth

Stake the flower stalk if needed

Remove spent flowers after blooming

Keep the leaves growing after bloom to recharge the bulb

Stop watering when the leaves yellow and die back

Store the bulb in a cool, dry place if replanting later
