Check for any pending transactions, payments, or deposits

Open or download the Capital One mobile app or log in to online banking

Transfer or withdraw any remaining money from the checking account

Make sure all pending deposits, payments, and checks have cleared

Select the account you want to close

Review and pay off any remaining balance
