Open the Start menu
Find the app you want
Right-click the app
Select Pin to taskbar or Pin to Start
For a desktop shortcut, right-click the app
Select Open file location if available
Right-click the app shortcut
Select Send to
Select Desktop (create shortcut)
Drag the app from the Start menu to the desktop if supported
On Mac, open Applications
Drag the app to the desktop
On Linux, open the app menu
Drag the app launcher to the desktop if supported
