Check your laptop model’s maximum supported RAM
Verify the RAM type required, such as DDR4 or DDR5
Check whether the RAM is soldered or upgradeable
Power off the laptop and unplug it
Remove the battery if it is removable
Open the back panel or RAM access cover
Ground yourself to avoid static discharge
Locate the RAM slots
Release the side clips on the existing RAM module if replacing
Align the new RAM module with the slot notch
Insert the RAM at the correct angle
Press it down until the clips lock into place
Reassemble the laptop
Power on the laptop
Check the system BIOS or operating system to confirm the new memory is recognized
