Scrub potatoes clean
Pat potatoes dry
Pierce each potato several times with a fork
Rub potatoes with oil
Sprinkle with salt
Place potatoes directly on the oven rack or on a baking sheet
Bake for 45 to 60 minutes
Check doneness by piercing with a fork
Remove from oven
Slice open
Fluff the inside with a fork
Add butter, salt, pepper, sour cream, cheese, or toppings of choice
