Be a U.S. citizen
Be at least 23 years old and under 37 years old for most special agent positions
Have a valid driver’s license
Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Gain at least 2 years of full-time professional work experience, or 1 year if you have an advanced degree
Maintain a clean criminal record
Meet FBI physical fitness requirements
Pass a medical examination
Pass a background investigation
Pass a polygraph examination
Pass required drug screening
Apply through the FBI careers website
Complete the FBI application process
Pass the FBI written assessments and interviews
Complete FBI training at Quantico if selected
