Be a U.S. citizen
Be between 21 and 36 years old, unless eligible for an age waiver

Pass a background investigation
Pass a drug screening
Pass a medical examination
Pass a physical fitness test
Pass a psychological evaluation
Be willing to relocate and travel as required
Apply for a DEA Special Agent position
Complete the DEA hiring process
Complete DEA Basic Agent Training
Graduate from the DEA training program
Serve as a DEA Special Agent after appointment
