Meet the basic requirements
Be at least 18 years old
Have a high school diploma or GED
Complete 75 hours of pre-licensing education from an approved Illinois real estate school
Pass the course final exam
Apply for the Illinois real estate salesperson license exam
Submit fingerprints and complete a criminal background check if required
Pass the Illinois real estate salesperson licensing exam
Find a sponsoring managing broker
Submit your license application through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
Pay the required fees
Activate your license with your sponsoring broker
Complete post-licensing education within the required timeframe
Renew your license on time and complete continuing education requirements
