Gather the manuscript pages in correct order
Trim the edges if needed
Fold pages into signatures if using a sewn binding
Press the folded sections flat
Punch or pierce sewing holes along the fold or spine edge
Sew the signatures together with strong thread
Glue the spine to reinforce the binding
Attach endpapers if desired
Cut book board for the front and back covers
Cover the boards with cloth, paper, or leather
Attach the text block to the covers
Press the bound manuscript until dry
Trim the final edges evenly
Add a title label or spine text if desired
