Measure the shed doorway height from the ground
Decide the ramp length based on the slope you want
Choose pressure-treated lumber or exterior-rated materials
Mark the ramp width to match your mower, cart, or equipment
Build a sturdy frame using side stringers and cross supports
Cut the frame pieces to the correct length and angle
Assemble the frame with exterior screws or lag bolts
Add joists or support blocking for strength
Attach decking boards, plywood, or planks to the frame
Leave small gaps between boards for drainage if using wood planks
Secure the ramp to the shed and the ground
Add gravel, concrete pads, or footings under the lower end if needed
Check that the ramp is level side to side
Make sure the slope is safe and usable
Install traction strips or anti-slip surface material
Seal or stain the wood for weather protection
Inspect all fasteners and supports before use
