How To Build An Igloo?

Find a location with deep, packable snow and safe conditions

Gather tools such as a snow saw, shovel, and gloves

Pack the snow into a firm mound or use existing hard snow

Shape the mound into a dome or oval

Cut snow blocks if the snow is suitable

Build the walls in a spiral pattern, angling blocks slightly inward

Fill gaps between blocks with loose snow

Carve a small entrance lower than the main floor

Cut a doorway and leave a short tunnel if possible

Make a vent hole near the top for airflow

Smooth the inside walls carefully

Reinforce weak spots with extra snow

Let the structure settle and harden before use

Keep the entrance partially blocked to retain warmth

Avoid making the igloo too large without support

Check for cracks and repair them with packed snow
