How To Build Photo Frames?

Gather the frame material, backing board, glass or acrylic, adhesive, nails or screws, measuring tools, saw, and clamps

Measure the photo size

Decide the frame dimensions, including border width and mat opening if using a mat

Cut the frame pieces to size at 45-degree angles for mitered corners or straight cuts for simple frames

Sand all cut edges smooth

Dry-fit the pieces to confirm alignment

Apply wood glue or the chosen joining method to the corners

Clamp the frame pieces together until secure

Reinforce the corners with nails, screws, brackets, or corner fasteners

Cut the backing board to fit the frame opening

Cut the glass or acrylic to fit the frame opening

Paint, stain, or finish the frame if desired

Insert the glass or acrylic into the frame

Place the photo and backing board into the frame

Secure the backing with tabs, clips, or fasteners

Attach a hanging wire, sawtooth hanger, or stand

Check that all parts are secure and the photo is centered

Clean the front surface before displaying the frame
