How To Calculate Stroke Volume?

Stroke volume = End-diastolic volume − End-systolic volume

SV = EDV − ESV

Measure the volume of blood in the ventricle at the end of filling

Measure the volume of blood remaining in the ventricle after contraction

Subtract the end-systolic volume from the end-diastolic volume

Example: 120 mL − 50 mL = 70 mL per beat
