Find the battery capacity in kilowatt-hours (kWh)
Determine how much energy you need to add in kWh
Check the electricity rate in cost per kWh
Multiply energy used by the electricity rate
Add any charging station fees
Add any demand charges or time-based fees if applicable
Adjust for charging efficiency losses
Use this formula: charging cost = kWh added × electricity rate ÷ charging efficiency + fees
For a full charge, use battery capacity × electricity rate ÷ charging efficiency + fees
For a partial charge, use the percentage of battery added × battery capacity × electricity rate ÷ charging efficiency + fees
