Turn on the PS5 and connect the controller with a USB cable
Press the PS button to pair the controller if needed
Go to Settings
Select Accessories
Select Controller
Check for available controller firmware updates
Install any updates if prompted
Reset the controller using the small reset button on the back
Use a pin or paperclip to press and hold the reset button for about 5 seconds
Reconnect the controller to the PS5 with a USB cable
Press the PS button to re-pair it
Test the analog sticks and buttons in a game or system menu
If stick drift persists, clean around the analog sticks gently
If needed, adjust in-game controller deadzone settings
If problems continue, contact PlayStation Support or replace the controller
