Turn off the light switch
Let the bulb cool down
Turn off power at the breaker if needed
Use a stable step stool or ladder
Grip the bulb gently
Twist the bulb counterclockwise to remove it
Match the replacement bulb type and wattage
Insert the new bulb into the socket
Twist the bulb clockwise until snug
Turn the power back on
Test the light switch
