Open the Google Meet app on your phone
Join or start a meeting
Tap the screen to show meeting controls
Tap the three-dot menu
Select Effects or Background effects
Choose a background from the available options
Tap Blur if you want to blur your background
Tap a custom image if you want to upload one
Tap Apply or Done to set the background
Return to the meeting with the new background enabled
