Open Google Meet and join or start a meeting
Click the three dots menu
Select Apply visual effects
Choose a background from the available options
To upload your own image, click the plus icon or Add image
Select the image file from your device
Wait for the background to apply
To remove the background, go back to Apply visual effects and choose None or turn off effects
