Open Google Meet and join or start a meeting
Click the three-dot menu
Select Apply visual effects
Choose a background from the available options
Click a preset background or upload your own image
Click X or close the effects panel to return to the meeting
To change it before joining, open the meeting preview screen
Click Apply visual effects or Backgrounds
Select your background
Join the meeting with the new background enabled
