Open the lock using the current combination
Locate the reset lever, reset button, or reset tool hole on the lock
Move the reset lever or insert the reset tool as required by the model
Set the dials or wheels to the new combination
Return the reset lever to its original position or remove the reset tool
Scramble the dials or wheels
Test the new combination several times before use
