Let the engine cool completely
Park on a level surface and set the parking brake
Gather the correct coolant, a drain pan, gloves, and tools
Locate the radiator drain plug or lower radiator hose
Place the drain pan under the drain point
Open the radiator cap only when the engine is cool
Open the drain plug or remove the lower hose to drain the old coolant
Drain the coolant reservoir if needed
Close the drain plug or reconnect the hose
Mix coolant with distilled water if required by the product
Fill the radiator with the new coolant
Fill the coolant reservoir to the proper level
Start the engine and turn the heater to maximum
Let the engine run until it reaches operating temperature
Check for air bubbles and top off coolant as needed
Reinstall the radiator cap
Inspect for leaks
Dispose of old coolant properly at a recycling or hazardous waste facility
