Select the folder in Finder
Press Command + I to open Get Info
Open the image or icon you want to use
Select the image and press Command + C
Click the small folder icon at the top left of the Get Info window
Press Command + V to paste the new icon
Close the Get Info window
If needed, repeat for other folders
