Park the vehicle on a level surface and let the exhaust cool completely
Disconnect the negative battery terminal
Locate the oxygen sensor you want to replace
Raise the vehicle securely with a jack and support it with jack stands if needed
Unplug the oxygen sensor electrical connector
Spray the sensor threads with penetrating oil if it is stuck
Use an oxygen sensor socket or wrench to loosen and remove the old sensor
Compare the old sensor with the new sensor
Apply anti-seize only if the new sensor does not already have it on the threads
Thread the new sensor in by hand to avoid cross-threading
Tighten the sensor to the specified torque
Reconnect the electrical connector
Lower the vehicle
Reconnect the negative battery terminal
Clear any diagnostic trouble codes if needed
Start the engine and check for leaks or warning lights
