Select the option to update direct deposit information
Enter your new bank or credit union routing number and account number
Confirm whether the account is checking or savings
Review and submit the changes
If you cannot use my Social Security, contact your bank, credit union, or local Social Security office
Have your Social Security number, new account details, and current contact information ready
Keep your old account open until the new direct deposit is confirmed
