Park on a flat, safe surface
Turn on hazard lights
Set the parking brake
Put the vehicle in park
Place wheel wedges behind the tires
Remove the spare tire, jack, and lug wrench
Loosen the lug nuts slightly
Position the jack under the proper lift point
Raise the vehicle until the tire is off the ground
Remove the lug nuts completely
Remove the flat tire
Mount the spare tire onto the hub
Hand-tighten the lug nuts
Lower the vehicle until the tire touches the ground
Tighten the lug nuts in a crisscross pattern
Lower the vehicle fully
Tighten the lug nuts again
Stow the flat tire and tools
Check the spare tire pressure
Have the tire repaired or replaced soon
