Park on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, and chock the wheels
Loosen the lug nuts before lifting the vehicle
Raise the vehicle with a jack and support it securely with jack stands
Remove the wheel
Remove the brake caliper and rotor if they block access to the wheel hub
Locate the damaged wheel stud
Rotate the hub until the stud aligns with an open area behind the hub
Use a hammer to drive the damaged stud out from the back of the hub
Remove the old stud completely
Insert the new stud into the hub from the back
Pull the stud into place using a lug nut and washers, or a press if needed
Tighten the lug nut until the stud seats fully and pulls flush
Verify the stud is fully seated and aligned
Reinstall the rotor and brake caliper
Reinstall the wheel
Hand-tighten the lug nuts
Lower the vehicle
Torque the lug nuts to the manufacturer’s specification in a star pattern
Recheck the lug nut torque after driving a short distance
