Park the vehicle on a level surface and turn off the engine
Open the hood and locate the brake fluid reservoir
Check the fluid level against the MIN and MAX marks on the reservoir
Make sure the fluid is between the marks
Inspect the fluid color through the reservoir
Verify the brake fluid is clear to light amber
Check for leaks around the reservoir, brake lines, and wheels
Confirm the reservoir cap is tightly closed
Use only the brake fluid type specified in the owner’s manual
If the level is low, have the brake system inspected before adding fluid
