Open Instagram and go to your profile
Tap the menu icon
Tap Settings and privacy
Tap Accounts Center
Tap Your information and permissions
Tap Access your information
Tap Connections
Tap Current follow requests or Requested accounts, if available
Check your notifications for follow request updates
Open the profile of the account you requested to follow
Look for the Requested status under the Follow button
If the status is not visible, the request may have been accepted, declined, or canceled
Use the Instagram app’s search to find the account again and verify the follow status
