Open Instagram and go to your profile
Tap the menu icon
Select Settings and privacy
Tap Accounts Center
Choose Personal details
Select Account ownership and control
Tap Deactivation or deletion
Choose the Instagram account you want to pause
Select Deactivate account
Follow the prompts to confirm
Enter your password if asked
Confirm deactivation
Log out of the app if you want to avoid using it
Delete the app from your phone if needed
Turn off Instagram notifications in your device settings
Set a time limit for when you want to return
Reactivate by logging back into your account later
