Put the quoted words in quotation marks.
Add the author’s last name and page number in parentheses after the quote.
If the author’s name is mentioned in the sentence, include only the page number in parentheses.
Place the period after the parenthetical citation.
For a quote with no page number, use only the author’s last name.
For a quote from a source with two authors, include both last names.
For a quote from a source with three or more authors, use the first author’s last name followed by et al.
If the quote is longer than four lines, format it as a block quote and omit quotation marks.
Include the full source in the Works Cited page.
