Preheat the griddle on high for 5–10 minutes
Scrape off food residue with a griddle scraper while hot
Turn off heat
Pour a small amount of water onto the hot surface to loosen debris (use caution)
Scrape again and wipe with paper towels or a clean cloth
Sprinkle coarse kosher salt over the surface
Scrub with a folded paper towel or scrub pad
Scrape off loosened residue and wipe clean
If needed, repeat salt-and-scrape until the surface looks clean
Rinse with a minimal amount of water only if necessary, then wipe completely dry
While still warm, apply a thin layer of cooking oil using a paper towel
Let the oil heat for 1–2 minutes
Turn off heat and wipe off any excess oil
For stubborn buildup, use a griddle-safe scraper and repeat the salt scrubbing
Avoid soaking the griddle or using soap on seasoned surfaces
Avoid steel wool or abrasive pads that can damage the seasoning
For heavy grease, use a griddle cleaner made for Blackstone and follow label directions
Store the griddle dry with a light oil coating and a cover
