How To Clean A Carburetor?

Disconnect the battery

Turn off the fuel supply

Remove the air cleaner assembly

Take photos of hose and linkage connections

Disconnect fuel lines, vacuum lines, and throttle linkage

Remove the carburetor from the engine

Place the carburetor on a clean work surface

Drain any remaining fuel

Remove the float bowl and other external parts

Take apart the carburetor carefully

Remove gaskets, jets, needles, and small components

Soak metal parts in carburetor cleaner

Spray cleaner through all passages and jets

Use compressed air to blow out debris

Clean stubborn deposits with a soft brush or nylon pick

Inspect parts for wear, cracks, or damage

Replace worn gaskets, seals, and damaged parts

Reassemble the carburetor

Reinstall the carburetor on the engine

Reconnect all lines, linkage, and wiring

Reinstall the air cleaner assembly

Reconnect the battery

Start the engine and check for leaks

Adjust idle speed and mixture if needed
