Turn off and unplug the ice machine
Remove all ice from the bin
Empty the water reservoir
Remove detachable parts such as the ice basket and scoop
Wash removable parts with warm water and mild dish soap
Rinse and dry all removable parts thoroughly
Mix a cleaning solution according to the manufacturer’s instructions
Fill the water reservoir with the cleaning solution
Run the machine through a cleaning cycle if available
Let the solution circulate through the system
Drain the cleaning solution completely
Rinse the reservoir with clean water
Run one or more rinse cycles with fresh water
Drain all rinse water completely
Wipe the interior with a soft cloth or sponge
Clean the exterior with a damp cloth and mild soap
Clean the condenser vents and air intake with a soft brush or vacuum
Reinstall all dry removable parts
Plug the machine back in
Make a batch of ice and discard the first batch if recommended by the manufacturer
Repeat cleaning regularly according to the user manual
