Empty the washer
Set the machine to the hottest water setting
Add 2 cups of white vinegar to the drum
Start the wash cycle and let it run for a few minutes
Pause the cycle and let the vinegar sit for 30 to 60 minutes
Resume and complete the cycle
Add 1/2 cup of baking soda to the drum
Run another hot cycle
Wipe the lid, agitator, and drum with a clean cloth
Clean the detergent dispenser and fabric softener compartment
Scrub any visible residue with a soft brush
Clean the lint filter if your machine has one
Leave the lid open to let the washer dry
