How To Clean Carburetor?

Turn off the engine and let it cool completely

Disconnect the battery

Shut off the fuel supply

Remove the air filter and air intake assembly

Take photos of hose and linkage locations

Disconnect fuel lines, vacuum lines, and throttle linkages

Remove the carburetor from the engine

Place the carburetor on a clean work surface

Drain any remaining fuel into an approved container

Remove the float bowl

Remove jets, needles, and other removable parts

Spray carburetor cleaner through all passages and openings

Use compressed air to blow out debris and cleaner

Clean the exterior with carburetor cleaner and a brush

Soak metal parts in carburetor cleaning solution if needed

Clean gaskets and replace damaged ones

Inspect the float, needle valve, and seals for wear

Reassemble the carburetor carefully

Reinstall the carburetor on the engine

Reconnect all lines, linkages, and the air intake

Reconnect the battery

Start the engine and check for leaks and proper idle
