Disconnect the battery
Locate the EGR valve
Remove the EGR valve
Inspect the valve and passages
Spray EGR cleaner on carbon deposits
Use a soft brush to remove buildup
Clean the valve pintle and openings
Clean the intake and EGR passages
Wipe away loosened debris
Let all parts dry completely
Reinstall the EGR valve with a new gasket if needed
Reconnect hoses, connectors, and battery
Start the engine and check for leaks or warning lights
