Ventilate the area for at least 30 minutes
Wear disposable gloves and a mask
Do not sweep or vacuum dry droppings
Spray droppings with disinfectant or a bleach solution until fully soaked
Let the disinfectant sit for 5 minutes
Wipe up droppings and surrounding area with paper towels
Place waste, gloves, and towels in a sealed plastic bag
Disinfect the area again
Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water
Wash contaminated clothing in hot water
Dispose of the sealed bag in an outdoor trash bin
