Shut down the notebook completely
Unplug the charger and all accessories
Remove the battery if it is removable
Press and hold the power button for 10 to 15 seconds
Work on a clean, dry, static-free surface
Open the access panel if your notebook has one
Locate the fan and air vents
Hold the fan blades in place to prevent spinning
Use short bursts of compressed air to blow dust out
Blow air through the vents and fan openings
Clean visible dust with a soft brush
Remove loosened dust with a microfiber cloth
Repeat until dust is cleared
Reassemble the notebook
Reconnect the battery and charger
Power on and check the fan noise and airflow
Clean the fan regularly to prevent buildup
