Sweep or vacuum with a soft brush attachment to remove dust and grit
Place felt pads on furniture legs and use doormats at entryways
Mix a pH-neutral wood floor cleaner with warm water as directed on the label
Wring the mop well so it is barely damp (do not soak the floor)
Mop in the direction of the wood grain
Spot-clean spills immediately with a slightly damp cloth
For sticky spots, use a damp microfiber cloth with a small amount of pH-neutral cleaner
Rinse lightly with a clean cloth dampened with plain water if the cleaner requires it
Dry the floor promptly with a dry microfiber towel or mop
Use a dry microfiber mop for routine daily/weekly maintenance
Avoid steam mops and excessive moisture
Avoid harsh cleaners (bleach, ammonia, vinegar), abrasive scrubbers, and steel wool
Use mineral spirits or paint thinner only for specific residues as directed by the product label and test in an inconspicuous area
Reapply floor finish or polish only when needed and as recommended for your finish type
Check manufacturer guidance for your specific timber floor finish (sealed, oiled, waxed)
