How To Clean Washing Machine?

Unplug the washing machine or turn off the power

Run an empty hot-water cycle with 1–2 cups of white vinegar in the detergent dispenser (or drum if no dispenser)

Pause the cycle after 30–60 minutes and let it soak for 30–60 minutes

Resume the cycle and let it complete

Wipe the door seal/gasket (front-load) or the rim and lid area (top-load) with a damp cloth

Remove and rinse the detergent drawer/dispenser; soak it in warm water if needed, then scrub with a soft brush

Clean the drain pump filter (front-load) if accessible; follow the manual for location and steps

Run a second empty cycle with baking soda (about 1/2 cup) to neutralize odors

Wipe the drum, door, and exterior surfaces with a damp cloth; dry with a clean towel

Clean the inlet hoses and inlet screen filters if you notice slow filling or residue

Clean the detergent and fabric-softener residue from the dispenser and any crevices

Leave the door/lid open after use to dry the interior

For maintenance, run a cleaning cycle every 1–3 months or more often if you use the machine frequently or notice odors
