Detangle the wig gently with a wide-tooth comb or wig brush
Fill a basin with cool or lukewarm water
Add a small amount of wig shampoo to the water
Submerge the wig and swish it gently
Let the wig soak for a few minutes if needed
Rinse the wig thoroughly with cool water
Apply wig conditioner if the wig type allows it
Rinse again until all product is removed
Gently squeeze out excess water without twisting
Pat the wig with a towel to remove moisture
Place the wig on a wig stand or mannequin head
Air-dry the wig completely away from direct heat and sunlight
Comb or style the wig only after it is mostly dry
Use products made specifically for synthetic or human hair wigs
Clean the wig regularly based on how often it is worn
