Wash your hands
Label the container with your name, date, and time if needed
Urinate first if possible
Place a clean disposable container, plastic wrap, or collection device under the toilet seat to catch the stool
Do not let the stool touch toilet water
Pass the stool into the clean container
Use the provided scoop or clean tool to transfer a small amount of stool into the sample container
Fill only the amount requested by the lab or doctor
Avoid mixing the sample with urine, water, toilet paper, or soap
Close the container tightly
Place the container in the provided bag or transport pouch
Wash your hands again
Deliver the sample to the lab or clinic as soon as possible
Store the sample as instructed if it cannot be delivered right away
